Quality management
What do Henry Ford, Frederick Winslow Taylor, William Edwards Deming, Ishikawa Kaoru, the NASA and the U.S. Military have to do with us? A lot! Because they laid the ground stone for the quality management that we have voluntarily implemented in our company with the ISO-standard 9001 and the HACCP system, in order to monitor the daily processes continuously and to improve them, if necessary. Quality assurance according to the strictest guidelines goes without saying for us –
in the markets of origin just as well as upon arrival of the goods in our country.
What is quality management (short: QM)?
QM includes all management processes that systematically determine the quality politics as well as the goals and responsibilities in a company and realize them through planning, direction and improvement. QM thus does not necessarily lead to an improved economic result, but it does continuously promote the achievement of the set and strived for quality goals.
What is quality?
Quality refers to products and services as well as to internal processes and defines itself as the measure by which products and processes are evaluated relating to requirements. Quality is thus the maximum sum of compliances of requirements (explicitly worded) and expectations (not explicitly worded).
The QM-system according to DIN EN ISO 9001 has become an indispensible must in many companies and mainly targets the maintenance or increase of customer satisfaction. In order to meet the customer demands – and therefore also our own – we have obliged ourselves to always search for new and unique specialities in Asian countries for our customers with the slogan:
„Specialities from far-away countries". In order to guarantee consistently good quality adequate for the products we maintain own offices in Asia, where qualified employees check our suppliers and their products continuously according to our strict specifications.
Incoming goods are subjected to a detailed control in our main house in Oyten by a competent team. This includes sampling according to AQL, visual inspection, declaration comparison, sensoric inspection and an inspection of the customer specification. Only after a positive quality inspection of all specifications the goods are released for delivery.
The efficiency of our QM-system is evaluated by order of the management in regular intervals by trained employees in internal audits, through certifications by independent institutes and customer audits. These impulses secure our work processes and lead to a constant adaptation of our daily processes and thus the stated quality goals. A quality management agent appointed by the management monitors and coordinates the constant adaptation and implementation of the individual processes in the QM-system under consideration of the profitability and sustainability.
On this basis over 130 employees not only at our main location in Oyten, but also in our offices in Hong Kong, Xiamen (Southern China), Qingdao
(Northern China), Ho-Chi-Minh-City (Vietnam) and Bangkok (Thailand) make sure that annually, over 1,500 containers with selected specialities and non-food articles typical for the country from far-away enrich our markets.
